Student Ministry

We believe that discipleship is primarily the responsibility of parents. We want to partner with parents to encourage, support, and equip them to fulfill this assignment.
We hold to a missional model of student ministry, believing that students should be trained to do the “work of ministry” (Ephesians 4:12). As students progress, we will teach Christian doctrine and how it applies to a Christian’s lifestyle and worldview. We will lead them to develop meaningful Christian relationships and provide opportunities for students to practice missional engagement.
The students meet on Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m.

Mark and Tabitha Garland

Mark and Tabitha Garland serve within the church our students. Mark has had many years of experience leading the teens as youth pastor, serving with churches in 3 different states. He graduated with a Religious Education degree from Southwest Baptist University and has had short term training from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary along with other leadership training as church staff.
Mark has always had a passion for young people and leading them to discover a deeper relationship with God. His goals for the teens are for them to grow deeper in their faith by applying the Biblical truths in their everyday lives and reaching others around them with the message of the Gospel. Mark desires the youth to come together in unity and make an active difference in their community.
Mark is joined by his wonderful wife Tabitha who have 2 girls of their own. Their family has called Arizona home now for 7 years. Mark has a close-knit family that has recently enjoyed the musical talents of the oldest daughter and the athletic talents of the youngest. Presently, Mark works full time for a non-profit organization in Tempe, but when he gets free time enjoys hiking, disc golf, golf, and many other activities.
